when i disable it, it still says

No, i dont think you need to download anything, but did u upload the forum in Binary mode? if so, try uploading just the install.php file once more, and test it again.

Where abouts does it say that your password doesnt match. It isnt lycos, i used to use them, they were fine.

Insetad of typing install.php in the url bar, type index.php, this should hopfuly redirect to the working install window.
