There must be a way to resolve this, can't we use spamassassin or something? Does anyone have some kind of solid method of keeping out the spam? What about something like akismet for phpBB? (http://akismet.com/) ? http://akismet.com/blog/2006/06/phpbb/ http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=4668...

if (matchCIDR($wp_bb_remote_addr, "66.249.64.0/19") === FALSE) { wp_bb_spammer("User-Agent claimed to be Googlebot, claim appears to be false"); } really? Really, I think what its saying is if the visiting CIDR range is in 66.249.64.0/19, then that is a match and therefore TRUE, however if its is F...

I haven't seen somebody to mention Bad Behavior as an Anti-Spam solution. I use it in some places in my PHPNuke web site, but it can be used in PHPBB2 as well. You can download Bad Behavior from here And on this page is the installation guide. It works and I experienced it on myself  My IP (So...

One of my forums located here: www.tranceforums.co.uk is still receiving lots of spam.

I refuse to market this website until i've got a stable site that doesn't constantly have to be monitored for spam.

What can I do to reduce spam?

Released 0.3b July refresh Fixed so it produces official MODX format properly 8) Also can validate MODX. @Saeru, still no fix for your colours problem yet, I'll try remember to get to it, probably best if you submit a bug report at sf.net ;) What about the sort function or a function to move the ac...

This is a great idea. I was wondering: Issnt it possible to just make a "normal" contact form, but instead of mailing the message it will get stored in the SQL database and retreaved by the "hidden" forum that only the mods can see? Or even better, the script adds itself a user, and when someone fi...

In my search for ways to manage the spam on my support forums, I found this thread. This is exactly the kind of feature I was thinking of to make my life easier. I get 10-30 junk messages a day so managing it by hand is possible, but annoying, and restricting user access and other more involved met...

There's no need to. just use calLite - it works perfectly. Its not been updated in a long time. It doesn't work with EasyMod. Its got limited features. calLite isn't listed in the Mods section There's no support for calLite on these forums Its far from a perfect solution... I think i've got more ch...

[REQ] SpamAssasin for phpBB

This is the best idea i've had to rid of spam yet... What is Spam Assasin? A mail filter, written in Perl, to identify spam using a wide range of heuristic tests on mail headers. How does it work? When Spamassassin looks at your mail, it is assigned a score based on its contents. If the score exceed...
