i would definitely think the archive option is a must. personally i don't like a long, long page that you just keep scrolling thru. have the front page display that past XX news items (configurable via admin, or let the user choose how many) then link to an archive page that archives them by month (...

how about a hidden category for each group? then the group mod can add forums. but then you get to an admin problem... right now there is not banning and other stuff for mods. in order to give mods the ability to add forums/etc. the admin would have to be updated - which isn't scheduled until 2.2 so...

nothing personal against phpPP but WASP seems to have better meaning. not everyone who makes a website wants to have lots of content and news... some just want different sections to tell the world about themselves. so IMO "Website Authoring (or Administration) Software for Php" has more meaning. jus...

WASP - Website Authoring Software for Php i actually really like this (and not just because I thought it up). think about it... what is a portal? it's an easy way to make a kewl looking website. you just drop it in, set a few things, and you are up and running. so in essence we ARE making website au...

the css has been discussed before... the reason it's in the html is so it can get gzipped (apparently you can't gzip a .css file). but there isn't anything that says you can't do it yourself - just edit the template and make the css file and the appropriate code.

well... i was able to get into my ezboard ctrl panel. it has backup and restore - but it's done behind the scenes by ezboard - you don't get any data.

so not sure if it's possible to convert from ezboard to ANY board :(

but if anyone wants me to check anything just say so.

i played with ezboard a little and still have an account (if i can remember the username and pass). if so i'll see if they have a retrieval / backup utility which could be used as a conversion tool.

i'm not very familiar with portals but imo you'd prolly want some type of calendar with the ability to add events for the community

just take off the pm icon from the templates, take the link in the header. then AFAIK the only way would be if someone knew the url for the pm page. if you wanted to go further you could rename that page so they couldn't get to it. there may be other ways... but that's the first thing that comes to ...

i know there is a hack for 1.4 for this - so there will probably be a hack for 2.0 too. if not we can suggest it for 2.2 when that time comes (which isn't yet <g>)

IP logging is present - you just don't see it. only admins and maybe mods. actually i'm not sure if mods can see ip... but i know admin can.
