yeah - something like that... so the admin could work on it, and everyone else would get a message that it was down for maintenance.

but the more i think about it... i'm not sure if that is really necessary. so just file this under 'random thoughts that dont make much sense' :p

How to take forum offline?

is there a way to set the forum as offline while you are working on stuff? i vaugely remember something about this feature, but it's not in admin panel now... so either i imagined it, or it's not done yet.

also - is there a way to make a forum be offline in v1.4.2?

This would be easier if you have a whole category that you want hidden or special. I realize there are no more feature requests - so this is just a qu...

phpBB2 will have the ability to use table prefixes which will keep your phpBB2 tables seperate from your phpBB1.x tables.

or someone can just make a text only template. this has been mentioned before... for people with really slow connections - so i'm sure after 2.0 is final and the template forum is up and running then you will have lots of options.

did you put a limit on the poll or leave it unlimited? maybe that could cause others not to be able to vote. i've also noticed that once you've voted you can't vote again, and anonymous users cannot vote either - they auto get results.
