I don't really know, as I have not looked at the code. The challenge is that you can only cache queries that don't change, whether MySQL does the cache or this MOD does the cache may not matter. This mod has two levels of cache: Overall and Post-related. The overall cache applies to queried data th...

Sorry but I have another question. If you have enabled MySQL caching on the server's my.cnf file, doesn't that defeat the purpose of using this mod? Thanks. I'm not knowledgeable about how the MySQL cache works, but even if the MySQL cache is enabled, you are still (presumably) hitting the database...

Mod for page view flood limits?

Occasionally, I will see particular unregistered users (most likely bots) of my board doing multiple page hits in short periods of time, thus sending a lot of queries to the MySQL server. I already do some degree of SQL caching, but it's not 100% coverage. Is there a mod somewhere for controlling pa...

Thank you for this great mod! I just deployed it today and it's working beautifully. However, I am wondering why this caching isn't applied to queries in viewtopic.php. Given that most threads will be read (esp. by spiders) rather than written to, wouldn't this be a good idea? Or am I missing someth...

Bots have been able to bypass the phpBB visual confirmation for some time now, so turning it on does little to solve the problem. Using a more difficult to read captcha will perhaps slow them down, but once they're programmed to read the now ones it will be the same situation again. A couple of oth...

Re: ya'll are awesome

OK, thank you for the advise. I think everything is back to normal and the boss may even keep me around for another day! I have to say that I can see how you could mistakenly delete all users. I don't think the empty box at the top that selects all users is a good idea...it's too easy to inadverten...
