Re: Unable to install any extensions in 3.2.8

I was simply wondering if there was a quick way to fix the missing authors named folder. Which I think someone did mention to look at the composer.json file to find the name. from a readme.md ## Quick Install You can install this on the latest release of phpBB 3.2 by following the steps below: * Cr...

Re: Finally some good news!!

... The EU has some controls over VAT and duty but ridiculous import loopholes where a company outside the EU doesn't have to charge VAT or duty but a company inside the EU does? This has a substantial effect on EU retailers making their sales less competitive. The question of VAT and subsidy isn't...

Re: Unable to install any extensions in 3.2.8

those after being unzipped only had one main folder where all the other folder and files were inside, there was no authors folder containing the main named folder that holds all the other stuff. Take into account that some of those extensions are [Dev] and installing them on a live board is at your...

Re: Need hands-on help upgrading from 3.0.11 to 3.2.x

Yes, I have the user guide, but not tech savvy enough to maneuver the whole process, I don't want to mess up with my friend's database either. I'm looking for someone to help me do the upgrade, either locally or remotely if it can be done that way. I host the site on godaddy, and the support at god...

I'm always amazed by how learned my peers around here are, generally more so than me.
Even though I've been using phpBB for more than 15 years, I still get that feeling every day :o

Re: Finally some good news!!

The majority of leavers knew exactly why they voted to leave and that is to take control of their own destiny - no more straight bananas  That sounds like a quote taken straight from the manifest ;). Let's be serious and honest about it, I'm willing to bet that less than 5% of the population...

Re: Your forum past, present and future

What's the point? That's a question for the owner or users - they probably have their reasons. Agreed, I was hoping to hear from them. What did you mean by “behavioural changes are forced and not chosen”. Thank you for your thoughts. Lack of or change of (own) interest, lack of time, changed priori...

Re: Finally some good news!!

A lot of remainers give reasons why leavers voted leave, if they listened to leavers they might get nearer the truth and it is nothing to reading politician's lies plastered all over a buses. Seriously, few leavers can explain exactly why they want to leave, apart from repeating political propagand...

2) I make lots and lots of backups. Especially before I update. My public_html folder and database file are encrypted with first an SFX archive and then in a Truecrypt container with a cascade of ciphers of AES, Twofish and Serpent. The passwords are all over 30 characters and stored in Keepass who...

Alright, they evaluate. And what are the outcomes that you know of, do the forum owners sell or do they just pull the forums offline. Do you know of any examples? I actually don’t know of any forums that outright disappeared for no reason. Some are still online even with zero or one new post per we...

Re: Help! "phpbb_posts" table crashed and ejected all data! All posts in forum gone! What can be done?

You mean simply exporting and importing a database from a backup will automatically optimize the tables? Wow. I didn't know that. Will it clear out any deep internal corruptions too? How do you use drop table? Do you drop all the tables or just the one that has a problem? Optimising a database is s...
