Re: Facebook login

I will not adapt to people; they will adapt to me ;-) OK, I notice the smiley, but it remains the kind of statement which won't entice many users to try and help. The thing is, you (or me for that matter) might need help from the phpBB team or the community, and a question which includes all the ne...

Re: topic order

Hi, thanks, I tried that but found that when I entered the second sticky it still went to the top of the list. I'll try it again to check and post the result. DH That's always going to be a problem because it's a new topic and sortorder is usually by datetime. (although users may use a different so...

Re: topic order

Have a look at viewtopic.php?f=616&t=2415706&hilit=change+time
With this extension you can change the time of a post (and if it's the first post in a topic, it changes the topic time also).

login_box_redirect : when is sessions_table updated?

The event "login_box_redirect" allows changing the redirection after succesfull login. I've been studying the code in functions.php and in session.php and it's not clear to me whether the session table has been updated already before the event is called. In sessions table there is a row for every co...

And what's your problem? Seriously?
problem? The only problem I have is that I've barely grasped 10% of how phpBB v3.2.x functions (and that's probably even an exaggeration). Aside from that I'm very much OK, although I could use some more free time (and a higher income  )

Better ask in the extension topic for that extension.

Re: Facebook login

But if I create an html file and paste the code, would it work? Seriously? What kind of question is that? First of all, the code you are talking about does not come from phpBB and I haven't a clue about which code that is (and I see no reason why moderators should know the code you are talking abou...

... considering it appears to be a standard feature for most other forums. That by itself is not a good reason to add something in phpBB. Most countries in the world have relative food shortages. ;) I'm neutral towards a like button, in certain situations it's serves a good purpose, in others it in...

... But no, I have to select 30 dropdowns, times 4 user types, to get it ok - that's 120 clicks that could be reorganised to about 12. That's what makes the roles so useful: think about the permissions you want to give a group in a forum = and create a role. Then you can select that group and just ...

Re: ACP no Module Management

I recently upgraded from phpBB 3.0.12 to 3.2.1 using this approach: https://www.phpbb.com/support/docs/en/3.2/ug/upgradeguide/upgrade3/ This did work very good, except for two "extra" tabs in showing up in the ACP after the upgrade (tabs name was "Extensions" and "ACP_notify_mods" or something like...

Re: Unable to create a new group

I hope you haven't copied the output and then pasted it to some non-text editor like Word and then copied it again. That may well be the cause. I remember having a similar error message years ago. After hours of searching the problem was identified: the characters ´` ' weren't copied correctly.

Re: Database table "phpbb_posts" crashed and won't repair due to temp file?

Because I'm on VPS and only have 30 GB hosting space. Not enough for backups. Your database is 2.5 GB and you only have 30 GB hosting space. Correct me if I am wrong but that leaves 27.5 GB available for other things. Seems to me that there's room for a copy of the whole forum. Also, a webhosting a...

Thats only a last resort. :?: :?: :?: You had problems upgrading and finally succeeded: https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=556&t=2446631&p=14870161#p14870161. If I interpret your mes...

That's probably an extension, but I don't have a clue which one.
Check which extensions are installed (and enabled).

edit you could always ask the admin of that board : memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=1749436

Re: Notification when moderator delete/edit/move post

I always give the reason for editing, even if it's just a fix of letters. In my opinion, a clear description of the moderator's actions is always needed. Of course it can be a notification included in the UCP, but it must be included in phpbb. A good idea will be a special post displayed for everyo...
