Re: Need help recovering our phpBB Site

If all you really want to to is to recover and upgrade the phpBB forum, you basically only need the phpBB database (and could delete all the rest). HOWEVER, don't just take that for granted. Also, it's not specifically mentioned (forgive me if I didn't see it, I did read the whole topic twice), you ...

Re: Moving to new host - very large table

Exporting all of the database tables in one is not a problem, but exporting them separately is never a good idea as you may end up with problems that will never be solved. By all means drop the content of the search table as that can be rebuilt after the transfer. Export the database as one from th...

Re: can't use phpBB due to excessive spam

I am not seeing any forums there I can post in without registering. And yes, your question is not a good one. You should never use a multiple choice question because they can always attempt each of the choices and will always eventually get it right. And in this case there are only 2 answers to cho...

Re: PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '$url'

± 700 posts with a url. Naturally i didn't look at all of them, but I looked at 2 sets of 30 and in each set viewed at least 5 posts in each set and almost all had links. OK, just checked again for %onclick% >>> ±175 posts and most are in forum_id =1 so it seems my random sampling wasn't very random...

This should do it for you:

Code: Select all

<?php
...
Again, make a database backup first.
Wow, nice intervention.
There were approximately 700 posts with urls and almost all of them had the onclick - no way these were going to be manually corrected.

Re: Let's make phpBB look cleaner

From a human relationship point of view, people rarely would even start a relationship with a dirty stinking bum which looks at you like she wants to rob you. Isn't this taking it a bit too far? My response was about the choice between 90% esthetics + 10% content or 10% esthetics + 90% content. Sud...

Re: PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '$url'

so i presume this fix will not work on 3.2? I should still have a backup of the upgrade I made last week to test your board but I didn't notice the open link in new window problem. If I have time this evening, I'll have a look in the posts_table. On my old 3.0.12 board I also had the open link in n...

Re: Moving to new host - very large table

Im moving to a new host and upload limit in phpmyadmin is 200 mb. My database is around 500 mb (300 mb when exported in sql format). So I will have to export and import separate tables. ... Emptying the search tables can already cut the size of the database in half if you're lucky. The next largest...

Hello
I do not want to have the left logo in the style "Forumbook" above. I would like to insert my own logo there. Since the developer has not given me an answer, maybe one here knows how and where to do it
Did you search the forums?

alancast: I wholly agree with your post about keeping things aesthetic and visually pleasing. to me, thats 90% of keeping a user on your site! if not 100%. So the site content adds max 10% to keeping user's on my site, perhaps even 0%? Damn, had I known that I wouldn't have invested 90% of my time ...

Re: Update old forum after years

Ok working now. Should I leave it there for update? Will it update my mysql DB? You need to upgrade. see https://www.phpbb.com/support/docs/en/3.2/ug/upgradeguide/upgrade3/ BUT: make sure you have a backup before changing anything to the database and upgrading. (That's just in case - if you follow ...
