Re: [Discuss] phpBB Release, Security and Support Plan

Colnect, our community, has hundreds of volunteers who translate it to 62 languages - http://colnect.com/en/collectors/list/team/translators There's a translations manager who supervises them, a volunteer as well. When people contribute to something they love, they enjoy the process and the results....

Re: [Discuss] phpBB Release, Security and Support Plan

The person responsible over managing the translations and volunteers of all languages (not a specific language) should be one of the phpBB team. It seems there's currently nobody who's actually pro-actively overseeing it and that's why things are as bad as they are. Who to talk to about trying to ch...

Re: [Discuss] phpBB Release, Security and Support Plan

phpBB originally only ships with the default English language. All further translations need to come from local contributors. So in case you need a specific language not yet available on phpBB.com, I'd suggest to seek local support or search on Github. Thanks for explaining. I think it's one of the...

Good idea but I'm not asking for a single language for myself but rather run a site that's translated to 62 languages.

Re: [Discuss] phpBB Release, Security and Support Plan

End of life for 3.0.x is upon us but 3.1.x is still missing many language packs. Is anyone responsible over it? What's the status for 3.2?

Pushing this up again. Can anyone please update on current status? Is there anyone really responsible over the entire translations operation of phpBB?

Re: Supporting multilingual forums

The code is on the page and Google Translate shares it. If you research a bit, you'll probably find it all in a few minutes. Sorry I don't have it in front of me now.

Re: Many languages still don't have 3.1.x translation packages

Visited the link and seems very neglected.
The link to the downloading the British English original refers to v3.0.12
The link there is to the old form rather than the new.

Who is in charge?

Re: Many languages still don't have 3.1.x translation packages

I agree. I believe the translations part of phpBB never got sufficient attention and that's evident from seeing the long delays and at times the quality of work where not all language packs have everything translated.

Re: Optimization: allowing a different path for static resources

Serving static resources from a different server has the following advantages: 1/ Browsers usually limit the number of connection per server so it's faster to serve from different ones. 2/ When logged in you send cookies on every HTTP request. If static resources r on another server, this isn't need...
