Installing Security Patch causes error

OK - I responded in a different person's message but got very little in the way of help. So, I first apologize for this new thread. However, I installed the security patch (using cut & paste - no typos) that was posted for the Admin Styles problem. Once finished, I get the following error: Parse...

Perhaps you could post lines 50-55 of admin_styles.php (after the patch) OK, I'll try the patch again and then see what happens. If I get the same error(s) I'll post the lines. Thanks for your response. OK - here's the patch that I pasted it to the file - remember it was a cut & paste from the ...

Re: Well, I've now got a problem

You probably typoed. Can't tell without seeing your admin_styles.php code. I copied the string right off the board here - cut & paste - so if there is a typo, it came from here. Sorry, no, but good idea. Anymore ideas for the problem I'm getting? BTW, I reloaded the page from an original un-zip...

Well, I've now got a problem

I followed the notes on the security posting - changed the code as shown and got the following error: Parse Error: Parse error, unespected T_STRING in xxxxxx/admin/admin_styles.php on line 53. This error is showing on the top of my admin "side window" and there is no Admin Styles menu avai...

It would be in the templates CSS file. /templates/your_template/your_template.css. If you know any more help let me know, like what to edit.. But it is pretty streight forward. Most of the templates comment what each code does for CSS For me, the question about this file is: is there any way to spe...

I don't know the exact lines, but change: <td><a href="{U_INDEX}"><img src="templates/subSilver/images/logo_phpBB.gif" border="0" alt="{L_INDEX}" vspace="1" /></a></td> to <td><a href="LINK"><img src="templates/subSilver/images/logo_p...

My suggestion to you all.. Keep in mind this is FREE. How many FREE things offer FREE support these days? What do you expect for FREE? Rather than judge, or gripe, be proactive and patient while those that code the files make the changes in a manner that WILL work, not that MIGHT work. This require...

What did you do, to try to get it working? This because there are several possible solutions in this thread! Well, I tried the solutions that you posted - using the emailer.php that you so kindly made available. I tried the 3 file fix that AcydBurn posted with the contributions of others (previous ...

The best thing to do, is retrace your steps, possibly remove any MODs, or do a CLEAN install of 2.05. Thanks, but this was a CLEAN install, as it was (for me anyway) a first time install and it was installed by the server company for me. There were no mods installed. The problem I'm experiencing is...

Still no luck

Yup, i will Download it here. Note: this worked for me, probably it will work for you, but i can't guarantee it. Note2: change the smtp settings as i discribed before. Good luck! Tried this fix too - still no luck - with this fix & changing to smtp, I now get "failed to relay to xxxxx"...

No, you're not alone

Happens to me too. The cookies get written to my browser (expire time 1 year out) but when I try to re-enter, I need to sign in once again. I set my cookie settings to the same as a phpBB that works (cookies are present & I am continuously welcomed back - logged in) which allowed the cookies to ...

I have tried all the fixes

Unfortunately, they do not work. I am working with a commercial server (I pay for the space & support) and it's set up using MySQL (version unsure) but php info is available if needed. I instituted all 3 of the changes to the appropriate files but either continue getting the same "dual"...
