Re: ACP Announcement Centre

Grem,
thanks, then I'll open the zip file and copy all folders and files to the /forum/ folder.
I'll also copy the install folder and files to the /forum/ folder as well.

then I'll try to go from there.

Re: ACP Announcement Centre

lefty,
one quick question to start.

If I copy the install folder to the /forum directory what about all the files that are in the mod folder.
does that folder go in the the same directory for the install folder to pull from?

Re: prosilver Special Edition

Ill, what is the code for the placement of the top of the board from the browser. I must have changed something because the top of this board we're using here in this support looks like about 50 pixels mine is not about 150. Meaning there is a big gap now at the top of my window. I must have edited ...

Re: ACP Announcement Centre

If you are not sure about adding the database fields or the modules, you can download the Install zip file , upload it to your root folder on your server, point to the index.php file, delete the folder immediately after you have run the install file. This will add the database fields and add the mo...

Re: ACP Announcement Centre

All, I'm a bit confused. Heres what I'm looking at... 1) I opened install.xml I'm reading the instructions... now it has SQL Code:Select All CREATE TABLE phpbb_announcement_centre ( announcement_show tinyint (1) NOT NULL, announcement_enable_guests tinyint (1) NOT NULL, announcement_show_birthdays t...

Re: Security mod

ok now I can get to the admin login so I'll see if my other admin can as well. I put in my number twice so I anticipate he will get the same "forbidden" message I posed earlier.

I'll post up and let you know.

Thanks,

Re: Security mod

I tired to login but this is what I got? I replaced the IP Jima had put in with my ip address. Forbidden You don't have permission to access /forum/adm/index.php on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. ----------...

forum background color

I see there is a forum title color but it would be nice to have control over each forum.

in our forum there is one I want to stand out so if I could colorize the background rather than just the title, that would be great.

Re: Security mod

jima, let me first say that perhaps I'm not even close to how hackers hack phpbb. Perhaps it's got nothing to do with generating a password. I'm simply thinking if it does then someone should make a mod that puts a IP that is not registered by the forum owner with the correct password then it auto m...

Re: guest access

you guys are right, I went to the forum permissions and NO guest permissions were set. I believe this means that they had no permission to the forums at all so it simply hides it from them. I did go through and set each forum permission for the guests and now it seems to work. Thanks for the help, A...

Re: guest access

brf,
I've dont that however it seems that getting past the login screen is my dillema.

if I get them past the login screent then the forum permissions will be relevant. But if they cannot pass the login screen then what does it matter if the forum permission is. I can't get them to the forum.

Security mod

After reading abot PHPbb accounts getting hacked, is it possible to make it so the ACP can be accessed only from certain IP adresses. Meaning, if the IP of the real forum owner is 145.304.405.305 and someone with 494.404.328.383 is trying to hack it simply will not allow them since the ip does not m...
