Re: Prevent Forum Name field from displaying in header (Solved)

That worked, too! I think I prefer the commenting out to actual deletion.

I see what my problem was...I wasn't using the correct expression when I tried before.

Thank you, stevemaury.

Re: Prevent Forum Name field from displaying in header

I was trying to "comment" them but it didn't work that way.

Thank you so much, Kim.
:D

Edit: I tried your instructions on our test forum and it worked like a charm.

Prevent Forum Name field from displaying in header (Solved)

We are using phpbb3 ver. 3.0.5 We have three themes installed on our forum. Previously, we did not use the Forum Name or Description fields as our Logo includes text. Recently we decided to fill in the Forum Name so that the name would appear on the tab while browsing. The tab for the webpage shows ...

Rename forum folder and keep links working

We would like to rename our forum folder from "phpbb3" to "forum". How can we do that and still have both inside and outside links to the forum including any specific topic links and our AJAX chat box still work?

Re: Blue Stripes

Nice work! I second that request. Would be really neat to have an alternate color choice but I do agree, nice theme.

Blue Moon Style Deactivated

I notice that the Blue Moon Style has been deactivated. At one point I thought someone had taken over support for it but can't seem to find the thread where I read that. We use Blue Moon as our default style and I am concerned. Since it has been deactivated and we are still using it...could we have ...

Re: Forum Template User-defined permissions

Is it possible to change the text in the first field from "Warning" to something else (Tip, Reminder, Comment, Location, etc.) or leave it blank, leaving just the message in the second field? Either way would work for me. Edit: Disregard the above. I had been testing a couple mods and posted in the ...

Re: Forum Template User-defined permissions

stevemaury wrote:...You would change the 2 in the template switch example to the id of the group in question. The switch does not need to be on a new line....
So the switch gets added after the last } of the new added code?

Sorry to be so thick headed about this. Your patience is really appreciated.

Re: Forum Template User-defined permissions

Regarding the new code to add: if ( !function_exists('group_memberships') ) { include($phpbb_root_path . 'includes/functions_user.'.$phpEx); } $groups = group_memberships(false,$user->data['user_id']); foreach ($groups as $grouprec) { $template->assign_vars(array( 'S_GROUP_' . $grouprec['group_id'] ...

Re: How to make custom link only visible to specific usergroup?

There's probably a simpler way to get the group id but heres my method. Go into: Acp / Users and management / Manage group Choose the group you want the id from by clicking either one of the two options: Settings / Members Now look at the url of the browser... The last number you see is the group i...

Re: Warning to a group while in posting screen?

I have found the text to be replaced. This looks simple enough to do. Thank you so much. Now I have a novice question. I have been looking through the ACP and I can see the Groups but I haven't found any reference to a Group ID #. How do I find the Group ID #? Edit: Found it! I found one way ...

Re: Warning to a group while in posting screen?

Private Forum Customized Style We are considering using a customized version of the default forum style in the private forum and are already testing it out. That being the case, then for the private area, we would just need one tweak that lets us tell them they are in the private area when posting (...
