Thanks for your update! Unfortunately it doesn't work for me... but do I need to add something else? I mean, what does that 'dummy' stand for? Don't I need to add that somewhere? You or I probably missed something, a '}' somewhere. I will publish both files that worked for me below so you can copy ...

I have tested the code below and it works on a vanilla forum.

Don't you think I have other things to do? :D

I'll think I manage to solve the problem but I will test it a little bit more. Check back in 12 hours.

That's cool yes, and it does work, but only for the forum pages... it does not work for any extra pages you have which are not directly linked to the forum, like several MODS we have (easyCMS, Photo Album, etc...). I mean, when using the original Board Disabled option, this will work with ALL files...

This post is removed because it was a bad example to the question.

Is there a similar way to allow only registration from a certain domain (unless the admin explicity makes an exception)? I run a phpbb for my university, and because of some recent trouble I have had with some users, I would like to allow only email users of our university domain (coupled with emai...

To fix so the newest user doesn’t show up on the main page, open index.php and find this code: $template->assign_vars(array( 'TOTAL_POSTS' => sprintf($l_total_post_s, $total_posts), 'TOTAL_USERS' => sprintf($l_total_user_s, $total_users), 'NEWEST_USER' => sprintf($lang['Newest_user'], '<a href="' . ...

Re: User list and view

Can this be stopped or hided: I have a must to register before access to forum? Now you can not read forums before log in... but you're still able to read userlists and profile? How to stop it? Open memberlist.php and find: // // Start session management // $userdata = session_pagestart($user_ip, P...

Only Moderators & Admins can view IP addresses - And if you dont trust those users, then it begs the question of why they hold those positions of power in the first place? I'm a paranoid person. If I make a promise, I'll keep it. 8) If you still don't want the IP addresses to be logged, I guess you...

Remove IP addresses

Hi, I have a question that is the other way around from what I have been reading in this thread so far. I'm going to give away a forum to some folks. There are about 3000 postings and I'll also give them away, but I don't want to give away the posters IP addresses, it's a promise to all posters. How...
