I saw your other posts for support. I agree, that was rather rude. They could have helped you out with the copyright issue and not just say put it back and lock the topics! Any how.... Edit the table definition in the overall_page_header.tpl (if I remember the name right). Add a width definition to ...

Topic: New Install - What do I put in config.php file?

The config.php file needs to be writable by everyone when installing.

Once installed, you can remove the write privs.

on unix:

chmod a+w config.php or chmod 777 config.php

When you are done installing:
chmod a-w config.php or chmod 444 config.php

The next question is "will any of the mods ever be rolled into phpbb by default?" Especially since everybody is adding at least one mod to their site.

Ah, I thought I had the path set to /forum/

Will check the settings with the user. Of course, why is he the only user having this issue? He sets his cookies acceptance to asking him. Would this make a difference?

Yes, I see that for what you have said. But, Hitek is saying he is off by only an hour. I was only mentioning this because little things like this can completely change solutions.

Good luck on the problem.

I have a DNS server setup inside my lan. It defines all my machines and forwards all other DNS name requests to my dyndns provider for lookup. This would probably fix your issues as I don't have them. DNS for a local LAN won't use up much resources as traffic to it will be limited only to the few ma...

I can confirm that you can disable the board, logout and come back later. You will be able to login if you are the admin and see the ACP.

Good luck.

Just to ask the obvious question:

Are we keeping in mind that phpbb does not take in account Day Light Savings? (at least not with out a mod).

you will need either an ssh (recommended) or a telnet login. cd to the folder where the forum is installed and run the following command. chmod 777 config.php change the 777 to 555 (wrong numbers in previous post) in order to make the file read only when you are done running the install. Some FTP cl...

Have you changed the permissions to the config file to be writable (i.e. on unix chmod 777 config.php)? Then run the install.php from a browser? After install, I recommend changing the permissions back to 444 (readable only).

You can easily set it up with the same database and different tables. When running the install in the new folder, change table names from phpbb_ to something else like bobsforum_
