Re: Official phpBB Bridge Discussion

For making headers or just similar elements look the same in different software solutions (like making a global menu at the top of the page) I just use either a built in solution for a main menu or mod to make a main menu, and style it to blend with the current theme of that software, while keeping ...

Re: Keep me interested in phpbb

I agree with a lot of other solutions been very bloated of non forum extras (ironically a lot of paid ones) therefore losing the purpose of been a forum, and all the complicated none specific extras can really make it hard to maintain what you want. Again it is to suit your personal needs, but you c...

Re: [BETA] iPhone Style

Would you consider submitting it again to the mod database, if you had help with fixing them parts?

Re: Unexpected companies/projects that use phpbb

Great topic! It's taken a bit longer than expected, but we plan on creating a showcase section to display all the different websites that use phpBB. I could give you our list, but that wouldn't be fun :). Perhaps the community can find some that even we don't know about. I'll start you off: Mozilla...

Unexpected companies/projects that use phpbb

Look round a few websites recently I have noticed a few phpbb powered forums where I least expected them, and it just shows how widespread phpbb is. With quite a few sites unexpectedly using phpbb I thought it might be interesting to make a topic to list websites that probably don't need phpbb, but ...

Re: Making money from open source software afffiliation

Thats ok, just I know phpbb has a few sponsors and advertisers that are associated with it on the homepage, but none of them have affiliation schemes. Think I might just leave most of the links to the normal software website anyway instead of a host, so it isn't relying completely on the user wantin...

Re: Making money from open source software afffiliation

Well it doesn't have to be a completely phpbb premium host. Something like this [removed as per our rules - Marshalrusty], which isn't just for phpbb but clearly states that they support it and is provided as a startup option (like already setup) with maybe other software.

Making money from open source software afffiliation

Before I completely setup my website, I am looking into the best ways to draw income apart from the buisnes itself, without crowding my sites with spam, and/or obnoxious forceful advertising campaigns. The best solution I thought of that not only gives visitors more of a reason to click advertisemen...

Re: [BETA] iPhone Style

It's pretty good, and definetly a solution needed for mobile internet users. However it doesn't look like your using the most of webkit and you could compensate for the screen real estate loss by adding transitions and a little ajax used in a lot of web apps. I tried making a web app for the iphone ...

Re: learninig php

I would definetly recommend http://www.w3schools.com this is where I really started learning php coming from a none coding noob style of work. It really got me to understand some key concepts and gives you a tutorial on a lot of the important parts to the point where you can just see how it works pl...

Re: Recycling a function for future modification

This topic doesn't matter now. I realize that using two pieces of software with the same functions in an integrated environment is not a good idea, and best avoided by using software with different functions names when integrated. Until phpbb or the other software I wanted to integrate incorporate f...

Recycling a function for future modification

I have come into a problem with using the function in phpbb set_config . I am integrating several pieces of software and one of them also uses a function called set_config , and after phpbb has declared this function the software can't redeclare it and this causes an error. Is there anyway I can dea...
