Re: Post to a thread via email

I too would be interested in something along these lines, maybe not anonymous, but the ability to have an email post to the forum, maybe as a link in the original email notification that the forum sends out. This way the forum, thread, etc., is known. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: phpbb database foreign key question

Thanks. That is what I thought although since they have the tables as Innodb, I did some more digging and found that Innodb might be more desirable for other reasons. So, I found the Innodb plugin, added that along with the my.cnf entries and snap, just like that, I've got Innodb! Yesterday I was ba...

phpbb database foreign key question

I recently found that my other computer only has MyISAM tables while my main work computer has Innodb. Upon checking the database dump sql file, I can't find anywhere in the Innodb tables where a foreign key is set. Can I safely assume that there are no foreign keys for the phpbb database and my com...

Re: phpBB Digests

Hi, I have the entire forum installed on both my windows vista and linux mint computers. For windows you need IIS with PHP configured as FastCgi and with linux, you need to install first Mysql then Apache and then PHP. http://laffers.net/howtos/howto-install-mysql is what I used for Linux, but the A...

Re: phpBB Digests

Hi Mark,

General UMIL question. If I make the sql changes manually and I'm only upgrading and there were no ACP changes, do I even need to run this? It doesn't appear that there were ACP changes going from .5 to .7. Thanks

Re: phpBB Digests

Hi Mark, It's me again. I had everything running nice on my localhost and now it's time to copy up to the live test system. I copied all of my files, made all of the sql changes manually and tried to run the umil_digests_install.php. It doesn't seem to be working. I don't see that UCP_DIGESTS_POSTS_...

Re: phpBB Digests

I found it without a lot of head-banging. I accidentially deleted the constant CONFIRM_TABLE when I added the digest code.

Re: phpBB Digests

For the first issue, the mail_digests.php is fine just that my receiving email server didn't like it. I'm not too concerned about that as long as taking out the username isn't going to cause fits somewhere else. I'll have to keep checking on the other issue but it is the functions_messenger, along w...

Re: phpBB Digests

Hi Mark, I am now having another issue with the email notifications. This morning I was having no trouble receiving email notifications for all my posts but after I applied all of the changes, including the ones to functions_messenger, the board is no longer sending email notifications. I looked ove...

Re: phpBB Digests

It's not the sender's address that is the problem but the To email address.

Re: phpBB Digests

Hi Mark, I just got finished upgrading phpbb to 3.0.6, upgrading the smartfeed, my other mod, and the digests. My mail server is having an issue with one of the changes in mail_digests.php: $messenger->to($row['username'] . ' <' . $row['user_email'] . '>'); It doesn't like the username preface. I ch...

Re: [RC] Prime Notify - Put the message in notification emails

I have just started using this Mod in a test environment. One thing that I would like to do is to have the email sent anytime a new post is posted to a watched forum. The way it works now is that the board only sends one email and then states that it will not send another one until the watched forum...

Re: [RC6] Email Digests

Hi Mark, I have finally done my upgrades from 2.2.2 to 2.2.5. The issue that I had with the U_ACTION still exists. I commented it out and replaced it with what worked in 2.2.2 and still works in 2.2.5.** However, the new code does work in Vista, just not what my server runs (XP I believe but not sur...

Re: Incomplete upgrade?

P.S. Also, after I copied the files, I purged the cache and refreshed my style theme. So can I just delete the "Version_update_from" from the phpbb_config table? Thanks
