I don't think that is easy to achieve.
The complete row is one color (bg1 or bg2).

I notice there is a difference wether you are selecting a word by doubleclicking or by holding the mouse button and dragging the mouse to select the text. Doubleclicking is working fine, keeping the selection. Using drag to select, releases the selection after selecting a bbcode. By the way, I am us...
