I had a similar problem (no posting was possible) and it was apparently caused by the forum being unable to write to the cache folder due to a lack of permission to do so.

Re: Blank screen when submitting new forum settings in ACP

My posting problem was, it seems, caused by the cache folder not being writable. After allowing it to be written (by "anonymous users", to be specific), I could immediately start posting normally again.

My cache folder is now also, obviously, not empty anymore.

Re: Blank screen when submitting new forum settings in ACP

what host are you using I am getting the same blank screen on posting messages and have not been able to resolve it even after restoring the entire site from a backup. Re: Blank screen when submitting new forum settings in ACP

My cache folder is empty except for the index.htm file. I don't think this would be the problem but have you confirmed that your cache/ directory is writable? No, and this could possibly be related - I recall having some issues with read/write permissions when I first set up the forum, though I don...

Re: Blank screen when submitting new forum settings in ACP

Get a hold of the error log is turning out to be more complicated than expected. Anyway, mow I am getting another problem as well: I get the white screen also when trying to start a new thread or reply to an existing one. I have been able to make posts before (and after the upgrade), though, so it's...

Re: Blank screen when submitting new forum settings in ACP

The memory limit is 128M in both columns.

I'll see what I can do about checking the error log.

Blank screen when submitting new forum settings in ACP

When I hit the submit button on the forum settings page (the one where you can set forum name and description) in the admin control panel, all I get is an empty white screen. When revisiting the forum settings page, the submitted changes have not taken effect. (This is troublesome because I do want ...

[snip]

When I visit the forum, using Internet Explorer, I get the error message "Done, but with errors on page" in the lower left corner of the browser interface.

Using Google Analytics with forum --> doesn't work

According to a previous thread, the Google Analytics javascript is supposed to go before the </body> tag in overall_footer.html; I have tried this but it does not work and it seems to generate a silent error notification from Internet Explorer whenever the forum is visited (the forum itself seems to...

Editing footer box (utter newbie question)

Currently, there is one box above and one box below the forum cathegory listing on my forum. The box above the forum listing contains the "forum index < cathegory < subcathegory" navigational links, a vertical separator and additional stuff (control panel et.c.) below said separator. The box below c...
