in the sql creation scripts, there is a comment that says you may want to make the sessions table heap under mysql 3.2.x. Is this just outdated code and it is safe to have this under mysql 4.x as well? Or, is this only good for 3.x? How did my table get to Heap anyway, I never set it that way. As fa...

Well, I think it has something to do with the many updates that have gone on. For example, somehow I did not have a -1 user, which was causing me trouble in the past. I ran the installer script to build the database, and it pre-populated the database with a little bit of data. My question is, how do...

table types

The SQL creation code does not specify a table type, I have one table in a old database that is causing me trouble and I tihnk it could be the table format being heap/memory.

Should all tables be myisam?

Still slow, want to start clean

Still, after 12 or so hours, certain pages on my forums get slow, this did not happen untill I updated to mysql 4.

I want to now re-install 2.0.6 clean, then import the old data, what is the best way to do this?

Thanks, first, removing the ability to look for unanswered posts is not a option, it is a valuabel resault set. I want to know what the SQL is up to, why IN [really large list that I do not know what needs to be there.] I think a select this, that from table where answered = 0 would suffice. yes, yo...

search_results table, why and when does it get cleaned up

The search_results table, seems to store search queries, it allso seems to clean itself up over time as well. Fiirst, why are records being deleted rather than just marked inactive, I suspect that over time the deleted actions are causing a very unoptimized table. What in the heck is stored in the t...

Any developers out there that can explain this to me, I have been digging at the code in the page search.php, I have had a few others look at it as well, we all come to the conclusions that it is phpBB code that is causing this slowdown I have, pretty much rule out php and mysql as the troub...

Someone care to explain the logic in this to me...

I have been trying to get a answer to this for a week now, after moving to mysql 4 and phpBB 2.0.6 I have about 12 hours of good running, then certain pages take 30 seconds or more to load. I have mysqldumped the database and built it new, the only thing that fixes it is to restart mysql, something ...

Bug report, I know this is the wrong place, but what to do?

I have found a problem in phpBB, I can effectively take out any phpBB install I desire, including this very install :-( I would like to report this and see what can be done about it, but I try to post to the bug report place and I get a 502 gateway error. I do not have IRC, so I can not go there, I ...

Like I said, I have mysqldumped and recreated the tables, which is one step beyond a repair.

Well, I will be damned!, thank you so much, I have no idea why the update script does not check for this and make this work, but this did the trick, thanks again.
