The register and login links can be found near the bottom of templates/<your template dir>/overall_header.tpl. The login form is in templates/<your template dir>/index_body.tpl. Just comment the out using <!-- and --> or delete them all together. Make sure you define all of your forums so that anony...

Is the original database still up and running? If so, just export the users using phpMyAdmin or whatever other tool you can use to interface with the database. Also, was the original database a phpBB database or is it from another bulletin board or a custom database? If it's a a phpBB database, then...

Problem is I'm using OpenSA (Due to the fact of getting ASP to work on apache by myself is the biggest pain ever) Unless that comes with ASP also (which would be awsome) I kinda can't go back to the old apache.... And the site says it's kinda buggy... so I'm not so sure if I want to deal with very ...

Hey Willy,

In the default installation of phpBB you can find them in the lang_main.php file in your language directory. Look for the lines beginning with "$lang['tz']".

If you have the Dates For Humans mod (I highly recommend this one) then you can find them in the includes/functions_selects.php.

Question about importing user data from a custom database

I'm importing some user data from another custom bulletin board system into a new installation of phpBB (2.0.10) and I have some questions. This will all be done through a custom import script that I'm writing. What is "user_sig_bbcode_uid" and how is it used? The existing database already has a sig...

I'm trying to find a good link for this as well. The phpbb.com.br site seems to be busted up at the moment.

But now you're getting into alot of complex Reg Exp searches that can bog down your forums with over-processing. Trust me, I've tried to write a comprehensive word filter that would take into account HTML, spaces between letters and vowel/digit substitution. There will ALWAYS be someone who can get ...

I tried to think of some ways to accomplish a bbcode-/html-safe word filter, but the problem is that if you have to run every subject, signature and thread body through a complex search/replace function it will seriously effect performance.

Techie - thanks for checking into it. I still would just like someone to clarify that my board won't kick the bucket if I turn this on after the board has been in use. Actually, I guess I just want to know why both of my installations did not set the auto_increment extra on any tables. Maybe it's a ...

Just curious if anything came about from this. We are experiencing the same problem at our boards (A mod discovered it. Thankfully the users haven't caught on!!). We are using v2.0.6

Thanks,
Chris

Thanks for the info Techie-Micheal. If any Dev's could confirm that turning on auto_increment on these tables when data is already entered is OK, I'd appreciate that. Also, you may want to double check the source code of the latest version of phpBB for MySQL. I installed a second instance of phpBB u...

Sorry, maybe I'm not making myself clear. I want to use auto_increment, but - after installing phpBB I found that none of the tables were created with auto_increment on the Primary Key fields (user_id, group_id, etc). My question is - Does phpBB come with auto_increment'ing tables (using the basic c...
