It's the latest release of phpBB. We installed it earlier this month. I specifically noticed it on the users and groups tables.

Techie-Micheal, Thanks for the response. autoindex = auto_increment. In our implimentation phpBB none of the tables were created with auto_increments on the index fields. I found that manually created rows (using a seperate PHP script) were not getting an auto ID number assigned. I'm not sure how ph...

I did see this somewhere, but I really can't remember where. Try searching the MOD listing. If I come across it again I'll be sure to post it here.

Seriously guys. There must be at least one admin in the room who can answer this. Auto Index is pretty standard on most DB's, why isn't it used? I'm not critisizing, I just want to know how bad I'll mess things up if I enable it.

Scratch that. If a user is set as a forum moderator, even without additional admin privilages, they will see the emails of anyone who posts to those forums. Is there a way to disable this feature for moderators and only allow it for admins?

I'm having the same dilema. Any forum guests cannot see the email, but ANY logged in user can, regardless of their admin status.

Why doesn't phpBB for MySQL use auto_increment?

I apologize in advance if this has been asked before. I tried searching for the topic but came up emtpy handed. I noticed that none of the ID fields in the mySQL database for phpBB use the auto_index extra. Can this be enabled for ALL tables (esp. user & groups) without hurting the database? If not,...

top_cat - I'm having a similar problem where the administrators are being output as white text on a white background. I assume they use the same color that the forum headers use, but I need to use white for these. I *DO* know PHP and MySQL but I can't even find where the colors for this are determin...
