As Zenith said, leave the "DNS" to "localhost"

the DNS you used was your DNS server, total diffrent. Dont worry about it, just use localhost. It will solve your problems.

phpbb needs some kind of DB, mySQL is most used. Thier is no way around this.


Who is your host BTW?
If you still want to use phpBB you will need to find a new host.

Being hosted by hostonce.com may be a problem, I do not know how phpbb runs on their servers. But through the grape-vine, I haven’t herd to many good things about them.

Coming from a host and a webmaster, it looks great, might want to look into the support speed and how knowledgeable they are.

Just follow the installation instructions, and chmod to what is asked. With that, phpBB will be secure.

Yeah.. its really easy if you know what your doing,

in Database Server Hostname / DSN: type Localhost

That is for the Database part of phpbb
Simply ask your host
What your database server is, (that will solve the first filed)
And through your control panel provided by your host, create a database, username and password.
You don’t need to worry about the prefix.
