Re: Ban E-Mails?

HI,

You can set registration approval to admin, but then you will be busy checking accounts!

Stopping spam registrations has its own topic to assist people in reducing the issue...

I'll see if I can move it over..

Re: missing directories

Hi, Make sure you are downloading from here (us): Downloads What are you using to extract your files? Try a trial version of WinRAR or WinZIP just to be sure. Make sure that filezilla has actually uploaded ALL the files (check the failed tab on the bottom). It should be Ok as I use that myself... On...

Re: How to stop Moderators from accessing ACP?

Hi,

Under normal ircumstances, no one but members of the Adminstrators group should be able to access the ACP..

However, you need to re-direct your questions to your hosts as they have scripted the install for you.

Re: Database

Hi, If you are converting a phpBB2 forum to a phpBB3 forum then you'll already have a database, no?? Or are you being given a file with the information from an old forum (created in phpBB2) which you wish to use as the basis/content of a phpBB3 install?? You might want to have a look through the tut...

Re: Moving users from Joomla to phpbb3

Hi, In addition, if installing one of the several "bridges" between Joomla and phpBB3 it needs to be done BEFORE people start registering so that the registration details are carried over to the both databases... See what you can find on the Joomla support site, as someone may have done this already...

Re: Moving my forum to a new host

Hi, Would it not be easier to: 1) Install a new clean 3.0.2 using the same folder name and DB prefix as before (this will help create the new config.php). 2) delete all the entries and tables in the new database. 3) Import the old database to create your tables and data. 4) Run the update for the da...

Re: Layout problem with part of the site in Firefox etc.

Hi, I don't know whether it is common or not. Or they could be interpreting the standards rigidly? (IE has an awful lot to answer for in poor coding and display from years back!!) When I looked into the issue when I was trialling FF3 there did seem to be "quite a few" queries about sites not looking...
