Re: phpBB Extension Coding Standard

In my opinion any "checking" of code conformity should take place in the EPV - you have to remember that the majority of extension developers do so as a "hobby" and are not professional programmers. We need to be very careful as to what is imposed on extension developers for fear of loosing them as...

Re: phpBB Extension Coding Standard

I had a discussion yesterday with Paul, concluded that only really badly readable code is denied. Anyway, you are right - it is required, but not forced. I updated the description above.

phpBB Extension Coding Standard

Hi guys, I always liked the Coding Guidelines phpBB provides - the code is nice and clean all the time. But unlike the core, Coding Guidelines aren't strictly forced for extensions. I, however, believe that maintaining the same formatting for extensions make it easier for others to read them, contri...

I guess this will never go into the core of phpBB.
So, easiest way to make it available to phpBB-boards is creating a extension.
He is already requesting an extension. :D

Is the ssl certificate necessary for it to work?
Yes, it is required by the browsers. They will refuse to allow notifications without it. Luckily, everyone can have a free SSL certificate using Let's encrypt.

Re: Upload of huge files

It looks like you are using plupload correctly. The question is why it is not using chunks but instead uploads a big file in one chunk...

Re: Upload of huge files

That means your PHP limit (in php.ini) is lower than the desired size. Do you use plupload? Because it works via ajax, you should not be able to see this error.

[3.2][DEV] Groups++

This is rather a very specific extension with predefined features, but I will publish this for free so if you see a potential in it, you are free to use it. Extension name: Groups++ Extension description: Allows admin to instantly create a group, forum with the same name and only users within that g...

Re: Upload of huge files

As far as I know, plupload sends files to phpBB backend in chunks.

[DEV] API

It's time for a proper API! That's why I started to develop a phpBB API extension . For now it will be session-based, meaning it will use current user session as authentication mechanism, just like phpBB core does. As for now I plan to add support for all frontend entities (forums, topics, posts, me...

Re: Extension using HTTPS Anywhere database

How does it proxy... It uses built-in proxy with 1-day cache layer. I plan to add option to disable cache layer as well as use external proxy. ...HTTPS the links... It doesn't change link since links don't cause mixed content warnings. ...is it only for images? Yes, for now. But support for other f...

Re: Extension using HTTPS Anywhere database

Funny that you ask just now when I recently created Mixed Content Fixer extension which (apart from the other attempts) implements HTTPS proxy directly - no settings, no additional installations. It is paid, but for as low as a handful of change, though. :)

Re: Audio recorder

There is no technological restriction to this. Browsers can ask user for a permission to record audio, the output is in uncompressed wav format but there is wav to mp3/ogg/whatever JS converter out there (even the smart ones using service workers so that main frame doesn't freeze). Not that the wav ...
