Re: How to cope with phpbb duplicate url's?

I agree that a few URL rewrites ( viewforum.php?f=7 to forum/forum_name ) would be great for users, much easier to link and remember. Apart from this and canonical links, I would not change much about SEO in phpBB. We should also take into account that massive URL rewrites have a good impact in perf...

Re: Expand and collapse for quote and code box

I like this one too.

In addition to AmigoJack suggestions:
It would be great to be able to collapse by default nested quotes deeper than X levels. For example: This would let you allow to quote 5 levels deep, but only show 2 levels expanded.

Re: Multiple ranks for users

I like the idea. But many admins will keep using standard ranks, or none at all. I think the best way to do this would be to add " rank categories ", so that you can have for example one category based on the number of posts, and another one based on reputation/points/special ranks. And then decide ...

Yes, you are probably right david63. I didn't think about that, and it makes perfect sense. There are a lot of forums upgraded from older versions of phpbb.

Re: phpbb default style re-design

I agree with this idea.
And I would simplify the new style as much as possible. Less images (or none at all) and simplified templates/stylesheets.
This would make much more people contribute their own styles.

Re: Is "U" tag still necessary?

I'm sorry, but I don't understand your answer. I know the difference between HTML and CSS, and I know what tags are; they are not classes, identifiers or attributes. As far as I know, HTML tags are exactly the same as CSS tags. I'll try to elaborate my question: I just found it strange to see "u" ta...

Is "U" tag still necessary?

I'm playing with 3.1 RC1. In prosilver/theme/common.css , around line 150: u { text-decoration: underline; } The <u> tag is deprecated for HTML5 and no longer used. Taking a fast look at templates, I didn't find it. Most underlined texts are styled in css (e.g. border-bottom), which is the correct a...

Nice work, I like it!

What about a name with the word "grid"? (It's the first phpbb style I see which shows forums in some kind of a grid, rather than the usual forum-rows)

Re: easyPortal

If you want to see how it's done, look at the section around line 820 of viewtopic.php, and viewtopic_body.html of your style. I must say that I´m quite new (with phpBB & PHP codes in general). To show the voting bar, I´ve done this change in portal_body.html : Find: <!-- IF S_DISPLAY_RESULTS --> A...

I´m looking for something like that too, but only found the Simple hits counter in MODS database (which counts all page views for each user). Yeah, I made "Animate Digits IP Tracking Counter" ver 0.3.0 at here: http://vinabb.com/viewtopic.php?f=75&t=184 With following features: Enable/Disable IP Tra...
