... it exactly is.. 'cause some minutes later it's highspeed again and the page creation time is always normal... probably it's a backbone issue of my ISP... but let's see. It's NOT the server itself because this server isn't overloaded. There is enough RAM+cpu power in it.

Just a guess but this might be down to your cache...

Lots of ISP's have transparent ones and I occassionally get a bum connection or a problem because of the one my own ISP uses.

Either that or you might have tried to access the exact same post at the exact same milli-second and been locked out.

Customizeable table name prefix

I'm limited to one database by my ISP and since phpBB has a table naming standard that cannot be changed I am limited to one forum only. An option to add prefices to table names during the installation procedure would be very useful to me. ...

... know how much I was happy to find that in phpBB2 I can send eMails via another server. I checked this option out, and it didn't worked with my ISP SMTP mail server. Does anyone have a mail server that work with phpBB2 and that I can use freely? Thanks! -Gil

... http://24.42.224.55/misc/images/x-avatar-red.png ...I don't know why phpBB can't initiate the transfer. Linking to my server worked, but my ISP would kill me for doing that  Sorry for the previous lack of info, I figured everyone was experiencing it :)
