Re: General Error Could not get style data

I have the exact same error. First my board showed an error about connections exeeded. MySQL 'max_user_connections' exceeded Then I thought maybe i've exeeded my hosts connection limit, which i hadn't. That fixed itself and now it shows General Error Could not get style data This seems to become mor...

Re: Anonymous > 212.219.143.200 > Successful administration logi

I think we may have gotten to the bottom of this. Thanks to Kevin Clark and his PM. Our board has 2 admins, one uses the above ip address and the other is me. He complained that he was unable to log in to the admin area Access to the Administration Control Panel is not allowed as you do not have adm...

Re: Anonymous > 212.219.143.200 > Successful administration logi

because you have given the guest user admin permissions somehow. this is not a good thing. robert Obviously it isn't a good thing  . However I have checked ACP > Users and Groups > Groups’ permissions > Guests > User permissions It's all set to No apart from being able to download files. ACP >...

[REQ] To moderate the board you must re-authenticate ..

I would like to force moderators to re-authenticate themselves when they try and access the moderator cp in a similar way it asks admins to re-authenticate themselves. Some details as to why i want this: Some of my forum moderators tend to forget to log out on public computers. So, unless I set the ...

Re: Prevent moderator from editing admin topics ?

Why not installing Prime Post Revisions mod, so all the edits will be logged. Then, you can track what your mods edited. Yes, that's one option, but a rather extensive one. The logging of every edit will cause your database to increase a hell of a lot. Then having to check them etc .. all I want to...

Re: Background color theme changer as per user request

For the profile settings you'd have to duplicate your theme and rename it, and also edit the css to give it the background youd like. The best way however, without much style editing would be to add a script that loads the css file defining the bg colour and storing it as a cookie. Similar to what t...

Re: Using WHOIS with user registration.

I am amazed that they really think it will make them any money, but they keep doing it. robert I have been amused by this practice for many years now. It still amazes me now how humans can go through websites simply registering the same username & pw on a lot of sites for what seems like no app...

Re: Get a Username by Using the User's ID

Great that it worked for you. I'm glad I could help. I doubt I'll submit it as a mod because that would mean even more work for me which unfortunately I really don't have the time for (like faffing with language files and so ..). With some luck people searching will find this code and it will come i...

Re: Get a Username by Using the User's ID

After checking into this a little further it seems that it isn't possible to use that function to get the username from the user_id. If there is, I'm too blind to see it or figure it out. I also couldn't get the user_get_id_name() function to work because it seems to only work with arrays and not si...

Re: Get a Username by Using the User's ID

phpbb already has a predefined function for this:

Code: Select all

get_username_string()
See: http://area51.phpbb.com/docs/code/phpBB ... ame_string

It is defined in includes/functions_content.php

Re: Admin Can See Who Voted in Poll

My complete cut and paste version from this thread: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=571804&st=0&sk=t&sd=a This version shows the usernames of the people that voted below the vote results bar for admins only. The theme change is based on proSilver, so depending on ...
