Re: Hosting company switched server, now problems

Then you need to ask your host how to turn off the password. I did. They say they don't know why it is doing that and suggested that I need to re-point the php software to the correct path (which I don't know how to do other than a complete reinstallation). Is that the next best option, to do a fre...

Brf wrote:You need to change the permissions on the folders.

The /cache/ /store/ and /images/avatars/upload/ need full 777 writeable permissions. The other folders should be set to 755, so the webuser can execute them.
Just checked and all permissions were set as you have listed above.

[SOLVED] Hosting company switched server, now problems

I am with Isomedia out of Seattle. On Friday they transferred everything to new servers. Now when I try to go to the message board I am asked for a password and it doesn't recognize my server admin password or my php password and login. Isomedia told me that I need to point the phpbb files to the ne...

Re: Required profile fields at registration?

I added a Custom Profile Field called chapter. One of the options is to require it to register. Now they have to type in their chapter info in order to complete the registration process.

Re: Making Fields Required On Registration.

All strings are stored in ./language/lang_english/lang_main.php Only ever change what is to the right of the "=". Didn't see a Location string anywhere in lang_main.php. Any other thoughts or am I just missing something? I did a Find command followed by a visual scroll through the whole f...

Re: Making Fields Required On Registration.

Related Question:

What if I want to change the wording of "Location" to "Chapter Information".

I tried changing the value= and I tried changing the L_LOCATION and neither worked. Where is this variable (if that is what it is) defined?

Re: Making Fields Required On Registration.

Thanks for the info. I have been trying to figure out how to do this as I also require location but have to manually email the 90% of people who don't actually read the directions I have posted for registering on our forum. Now I won't have to thanks to a simple search in this forum and the great he...

Hiding the members list

I have been trying to figure out how to hide the members list at the top of the page in version 2.X. My members are quite concerned about their privacy since anyone can view this list and the email addresses without even registering. The mod that is offered on this board to do this appears to be qui...
