Re: BBCode and smilies not ignored

Anything like [this] or :this: should be ignored by the checker, shouldn't it? Or am I supposed to add all of them as words of my site-wide dictionary? BTW, how does that work? "ADD"ing them from the spelling checker popup once I'm logged in? Yup, you can just add them to you sitewide dic...

Then help you shall urgently have ;) I assume what you are saying is that your community doesn't like the auto checking feature. And that's fine, although I know many communities that do like it. Fortunately, setting the auto check feature to be off by default is easy :D In the lite_version_and_addo...

Well, it's there ;) The code looks like this... $template->assign_block_vars('switch_not_privmsg', array()); // // Output the data to the template // $template->assign_vars(array( 'USERNAME' => $username, 'SUBJECT' => $subject, 'MESSAGE' => $message, 'HTML_STATUS' => $html_status, 'BBCODE_STATUS' =>...

The lack of language independent buttons is a glaring omission. I really need to get that going so I'm not forcing English on the rest of the world :lol: So the answer to your question is "no", but fixing that is a top priority. If it was absolutely essential, you could get a $25 license a...

As a point of interest why did you choose spellcow? phpspell is faster and no nonsense... IMHO ;) I have nothing against phpspell, but SpellingCow has many advantages over it in my opinion. For one thing, the install is very easy on SpellingCow. If people are having problems the simple SpellingCow ...

Hey, How? How would I "ADD" it? Please help. Thanks. Assuming you have mySQL, you could either use phpMyAdmin or use the mySQL command line. At some point you would have used one of these things in order to create the database for when you installed phpBB. If you still have no idea, then ...

Ok, first up is gothiqvanity . I checked out your board. I was able to register an account and the spell checker seems to be working fine. However, I get frequent errors from one of your other MODs. I think it's fair to say it's not SpellingCow related. Unfortunately I'm not sure exactly what the sp...

Oh! Thanks for the clarification. I've gotten a few requests for that and plan to make something available if I get a chance. It should be pretty easy to slap together if there is an experienced MODer out there that wants to do it.

The install using EZMOD was awesome, quick & fast!! how ever, i have no problems doing my questions by hand.. For SQR - the COW mod is missing in this 1 location? How can I add this in?? Really not sure what you are saying. It sounds to me like you are saying when you used EM, things went fine....

Sounds like you didn't do step one, which is to add the SQL command to the add the field to your DB.

Well the Cow will work with any webform. So if you look at the "lite" version as a model, all you need to do is include the line for the Spell Check button (be sure to set the parameters for the form, textbox, and submit button names) and put the spell-gw.php file in place ;) -Nuttzy :cool:
