Error from 2.0.22 to 2.0.23

Post by privatjokr » Tue Jun 10, 2008 9:20 pm

Ok. I am admittedly an idiot.

Now I hope we can get past that and maybe fix my board.

I went to upgrade, like a good forum admin, to make sure my security was up-to-date. I must not have been paying attention when I opted for the batch file conversion...when I don't have access to use the Unix command or whatever is required. Yes, I am one of those, read the directions as I go...and not read them in full BEFORE the conversion. So I realize what I did and go back and do my conversion with the changed files hoping, I guess, that nothing had gone wrong. And now this:
Could not insert new word

DEBUG MODE

INSERT IGNORE INTO phpbb_search_wordlist (word_text, word_common) VALUES ('test', 0)

Line : 234
File : functions_search.php
I have gone into myphpadmin and repaired the wordlist and it says it's OK. I have run the "REPAIR TABLE phpbb_search_wordlist USE_FRM;" query through myphpadmin to try that path as well.

Nothing seems to fix my problem. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thank you tremendously in advance.

If you use phpmyadmin's SQL window to run the query that failed, what does it show for an error message?

Reason: re-worded to avoid ambiguity.

The query doesn't fail. Or didn't when I ran it, anyway.

It returned two lines. The first said something to the effect of changing number of rows from 0 to 36 and the second just said essentially "OK."

You have misunderstood what Jeff wanted you to do, even after I reworded it.
Take the "original query", i.e.

Code: Select all

INSERT IGNORE INTO phpbb_search_wordlist (word_text, word_common) VALUES ('test', 0)
and paste THAT into phpMyAdmin, and see what error you get.

Also, please, if you get an error message, report the exact message, not "something to the effect of" etc.

I'm not sure exactly what I did, but I seem to have got it working again...

edit: missing from that was my sincere thanks for the time any and all of you spent thinking about/working on my issue.

Before I made the upgrade I made a backup that was nearly 46mb. Since the upgrade I do not get one larger than 4.16MB and they claim to be complete.

I attempt the backup the same way, using Full Backup.

I hope to move up to v3 soon, but won't without a full backup. Can anyone help?

edit: I just tried to backup again and now the file size is 313kb.

Use phpMyAdmin to do your backups, as described in this article:

41.1kb. At what point should I become concerned? At this point I am merely confused.

If your database is truly only 41KB then be concerned now.
You have not restored your database if that is the size shown now.
Usually to restore databases over about 2MB you need to resort to Bigdump.
Go to your database with phpmyadmin and click the users table in the left hand column.
Now click the Browse tab at top right.
You should see a list of all your users and various other data.
My guess is that you will not.

Right you are. So what are my options now? My board is still operational, so the data is somewhere...

You are being plagued by a cut off limit for a script to execute.
The way to restore large backup of over 1-2MB is to use Bigdump
