Code of phpBB2?

Post by psychoviper »

Hi,

I found this "new" BB while surfing through some support-boards.

http://www.hofdorf.de/tforum/index.php

This forum looks like phpBB2, has the same features and the same graphiks (for example: the little "www", "email" or "quote"). Please have a look...

nice greetings
pV

Meh, it's just another UBB clone, written in PHP, that's all.

It's definitely not phpBB2.

I wouldn't worry about anybody "pirating" the code, especially at this stage... somebody already tried, and he learned his lesson good :D

And if anyone tries it again down the road, we've got a whole community to set 'em straight ;);), and a finalized license to boot!

That would be TForum, and if I'm not mistaken the creator of it abandoned it some time ago...

In fact here's the current statment on their offical web site, http://www.tforum.de
tForum is now outdated, but it does what it want to do, so I don't think I'll be updating it for the next few months. If you want a more current PHP powered BBS then check out phpBB.

That is a good Forum original written by Toan Huynh. He stopped support over a year ago. Now it is supported by a "tForumHacks team" ( http://www.tforumhacks.com/ ). I know many Sites in Europe ( most in Germany ) that use this Forum System.
I also use this Forum but I will switch to phpBB2. I just need a "tforum to phpBB2" converter :(

That will not be too hard to code, judging from a quick look at the source of the createdb.php script.
If I had the time.... maybe someone here can pick it up. Or you can do it yourself...
