Recalculate Values and Countings

Post by phreak_02 » Sat Nov 08, 2008 2:58 am

Hi all,

I've been wayout for some time about phpBB and i want to reactivate an old board.
Actually my board was full with SPAM. I upgraded now to 2.0.23 and started deleting
users and topics.

The bad thing i did is, that i used to do that hardcode in the MySQL frontend and some
things i deleted with Toolbox. Now all the users and spam topics are gone but the statistics
of my forum as well as the pagination are now showing counted data that it used to be
with all the spam.

Is there a way to recalculate the pagination and the statistics.

If someone can tell me a way to work this best way round i would be thankfull,
p*

Give this MOD a try to cleanup your database.

Thanx ric323,

I've come across another problem, when i use the PHPBB Admin ToolKit, v2.1b from Starfoxtj. I deleted users and postings but the thousands of spam entries in my forum are still shown with the username "DELETED" originaly the same as "Anonymous" i think.

I don't know to erase all these topics with the "DELETED" name other as by hand, which is pretty awfull. Does anyone has a suggestion to this ?

Thanx a lot

No, that's how it works.
It's a lot of work to correctly remove posts, which is why the toolkit just replaces them with the word "Deleted".
If you've now installed some anti=SPAM MOD (like the RAC MOD), then you won't get any more.
phpBB3 has much more powerful features built in to stop spammers and delete all their posts. You should be thinking about converting to phpBB3 now. Support for phpBB2 ends in a few weeks.
