Restoring from backup with extra tables

Post by blulegend »

Has anyone been able to restore from a backup with extra added tables made in the admin panel?

Yes, I have. I had to do some playing around with the sql file but I go it to work. :) What is the problem exactly?

Says could not import file I think. But when I do a backup without the extra tables, it can restore it. BTW, the extra tables are very small.

That's understandable. You will probably have to edit the sql file to get it to work. Are the tables still there, just corrupted? If so, don't try to recreate the tables. If not, you will have to change the sql file to read something like this:
CREATE TABLE extratable (
hi text(10),
id text(15)
PRIMARY KEY (id))

Or whatever the columns are in the table.

I'll try that next time I need to back it up. I'm just glad that I know if have a full back up each time. I'm also going to backup two versions each time from now on too. One with just the board and another with all the extra tables.
