but in this I decided to change the pathname to:
but now the forum is now obviously on NEITHER of these pages.

uh can you just move the forums? I think the forums are tied to a certain place when you run the install...
make sure the forums are in the original place and try to run them.. let us know what you get...

No, the forums are not tied to any specific location. They can be moved once the proper paths are set.
works for me perfectly it seems.

They do now, I'm guessing something wasn't moved just yet perhaps???
they wouldn't work about 2-3 mins ago.

i managed to fiddle with the folders in my ftp server and got it working again... but ive screwed it all up once more- i used a style which didnt work, and now none of the pages are showing up, and I just want the original back, but as nothing loads up now i cant. the way im trying to solve this is by deleting the messed up one, and in that folder, putting in the default silver one, so that it reads that. is there a more reliable/quicker way than this?

There is a way, I am just trying to find it.... it's either in the database or in a file in your phpBB.. still checking...
Come on Mod, you should know :p

There are possible solutions to your problem here
Note: for some of them to work subSilver must still actually be there on your server.

- Open phpBB database
- Open phpbb_users table
- Select your account... and browse
- find style and set to 1 (if set to 2, otherwise to one less)
this should allow you to see the forums and change it back.

Does your webserver have Cpanel? , if so you're looking for MySQL, phpmyadmin is in there..
