Today at ##, Yesterday at ##

Post by Greywolf »

I've noticed on some forums that when a person posts on the same date as it is on the board it comes up with last post "Today at --:--pm" or the day after "Yesterday at --:--".

I've searched the forums here and cannot find anything relating to this. Is this a mod? Is it possible for me to do this as well?

Also my current date display doesn't change even though i change the format in the Admin settings. Once again searched through these forums but could not find anything helpful.

I appreciate any assiastance that you can give me.

Cheers
Jeremy

Cheers Jelly,

Installed that and it worked for a bit but somehow it seems to have reverted back (maybe I changed something dependent) . I've uploaded the code again but it still doesn't work. Are there any special setting in the forum admin (i.e a special date format) that i need to take into account?

IMHO this Today/Yesterday mod is more friendly. I've used both and the one from phpBB hacks had conflicts with Profile Control Panel 2.00 (gave bad results for system time) and caused a couple other errors. Not that it wouldn't work fine on a unmodded installation, but I just thought I'd throw another option out there.

I have to agree with eviluncledave on this one - the hack by netclectic is far better - I used that and worked a treat!

Thanks guys. I'll use this other mod as I've run into some trouble with the one I'm using.

Thank you for your help

Just thought of something else you should check on this one... have you also changed the date format in your own user profile and not just the board settings? That could be where your issue lies.

Yeah I think the problem lied with the other MOD. I've updated with the one you guys told me to use and now it works fine, displays what I want. Your right about the other one doing some funny stuff though :?

Thanx mate
