Have installed - cannot find

While installing phpBB2 I instructed it to try to update the config automatically because that sounded easier than doing it manually.

Anyways it seemed to install OK but when I point my browser to the location it cannot be found.

So I try to install again but it says no because something is already there.

Yep, I've done the post installation tasks - remove install.php etc - still no luck. What the heck, I cant see a thing. Got any ideas?

does your config.php contain the correct data?
http://www.phpbb.com/kb/article.php?article_id=48

What exactly happens if you go to your forum URL?

I would like to reinstall

Hi primedomain.
does your config.php contain the correct data?

It exists but has nothing in it. It is located directly in the main phpBB folder -not in a sub-folder. It looks exactly as it was when originally uploaded. The permission reads -rw-r--r-- and I expect that it was never changed. Maybe thats my problem.

So I've uploaded install.php again because I think that I should try to reinstall again but this error appears.
An error occurred trying to update the database
Table 'phpbb_auth_access' already exists

I read article 48 but havn't done that yet because I'm not sure thats the problem.

create config.php manually and overwrite the empty file on the server.

Have done - no go

I created config.php as per article 48 in notepad and uploaded. Instead of overwriting the empty file on the server it produced an additional file alongside the first one called config.php.txt (1kb) One is a txt file; the original is a php file

The page still cannot be found.

delete the empty config.php file; rename the config.php.txt with yout ftp client to config.php.
Where exactly do you get the file not found error? Is that the browser error message?

Going now

Thank you primedomain.

It seems simple now that I look back. Anyway, I hope that things are plain sailing from here.

Cheers
