You mean like remove the link atop from the header if logged in as a guest?
Then it be a simple matter of using these commands

Code: Select all

<!-- BEGIN switch_user_logged_in -->
<!-- END switch_user_logged_in -->
But if your referring to totally disabling guest from accessing the page itself without logging in first then you'd use neils mod for that
http://mods.db9.dk/viewtopic.php?t=1440
or it may be this one
http://mods.db9.dk/viewtopic.php?t=918
I'm pretty sure it was the first one though but if not better safe than sorry

Thanks for posting. I had a look at the 2 mods you mentoned. Neither really fits the bill (as far as I can see)

You have mentioned a "switch" code?

This edit sounds easier. But what do I edit and where . .

I wouldn't know where to start . . ! Not scripted or programmed - ever..

any help would be much appreciated... :o)

Cheers...

Hi & thanks for getting back,

The file you mentioned overall_header is located in the templates/subSilver folder. I take it from this, each theme installed would have to have the same file edited to ensure that this worked.

Looking deeper into the matter (and the file) it is not something I feel confident about doing.

Would I be better off putting in a feature request to the dev team?

I would think it better to have this item switchable from the Forum Admin options. ..

Thanks for your time and thought on this...

Well,

I had a look around various Mods but the ones quoted from neils, which I tried (both), did not have the desired effect. :cry:

However I did find in my travels, phpBBHacks website. On there is a Mod 1011 which fits the bill exactly. :lol:

Now on my forum, if you wish to see member details, the memberlist etc you are asked to log in - obviously to do so you will need to register :)

Just what the Dr ordered!

Many thanks to you all . . .

Time for me to learn to type now!
