Changing the Admin Folder name and Admin -index.php filename

How do I change the ADMIN folder name and the INDEX.PHP file name?

I want to do this as an increased measure of security, so no one can just get to the admin page without knowing the folder and the filename.

Any help appreciated.

You get into the FlashFxp, and press F2.
but after it, you must go to any file, and Change:

Admin

into:

Code: Select all

simply use the 'Find and Replace' function which every decent text-editor comes with. Search for '/admin' and replace with '/yourfolder'.

Use this format for find and replace over that proferred above, as simply replacing all instances of 'admin' with 'yourfolder' will do harm to your forum. 'Admin' occurs numerous other places besides simply referencing the Admin folder. Use the forward slash and the kitten lives.

Again...thanks for the info on changing the Admin directory.

But I also want to change the admin/index.php file for an extra level of security.

Example:

new_admin_directory/secret_name_for_index.php

How do I change that as well?
