Restoring Database to Newer Version

Post by cyberx2k »

Hi, I recently had a webserver change and I need to reinstall phpBB, but a newer version. I made a backup of the old forum (which was 2.0.7). When I install 2.0.8a it doesn't seem to be able to restore the old database. I've read something about changing the text "phpbb_" in the backup file, but both 2.0.7 and 2.0.8 have the same thing. Any ideas?

First do your install. then go into your phpmyadmin and only importing the data to your fields. Unless you have structure ie.. tables .. that you added, you will only need to import data. This may fix your issue.
