Did you do the required changes to make the visual confirmation work. I.E. replace the pertinent files.

yes there is a fix

Acyd Burn
Development Team
writes that

This is a known issue. A patch will be released soon.

In usercp_register.php and usercp_confirm.php, find this line:

Code:

Code: Select all

if (!preg_match('/^[A-Z1-9]+$/', $confirm_id))

Replace this line with the following line on both files:
Code:

Code: Select all

if (!preg_match('/^[A-Za-z0-9]+$/', $confirm_id))

Save and upload the edited files.

Could you tell me what version of PHP you are running, if you have magic_quotes_gpc enabled, and if you have register_globals enabled. A full phpinfo() would be nice, but for security reasons, I might not be good to make that information public...

Latest release (2.0.9?)
No idea if those are enabled--globals is set to 1 (can i manually change these??) and magic is "disable magic quotes runtime"

I work with this stuff out of need, so my knowledge is very shallow.
I very much appreciate the patient members of the boards...

I wiped 2.08a and did a clean install of 2.09. It installed fine, but after uploading the database backup for a few minutes, it says something like "no file was loaded". I thought the backup might be corrupted, but I tried an old backup and got the same message. Please let me know what the problem is - I don't want to lose several hundred posts and all the user accounts. :cry:

Maddox: Find in admin_styles.php

Code: Select all

  if ($cancel)
Add before

Code: Select all

$confirm = ( isset($HTTP_POST_VARS['confirm']) ) ? TRUE : FALSE;
$cancel = ( isset($HTTP_POST_VARS['cancel']) ) ? TRUE : FALSE;
I don't think Acyd posted this in this topic yet, but I'm still spinning around from my recent downtime, so I could be wrong :D

that is already added at the top for me

Code: Select all

$phpbb_root_path = "./../";
require($phpbb_root_path . 'extension.inc');

$confirm = ( isset($_POST['confirm']) ) ? TRUE : FALSE;
$cancel = ( isset($_POST['cancel']) ) ? TRUE : FALSE;

$no_page_header = (!empty($_POST['send_file']) || $cancel) ? TRUE : FALSE;

require('./pagestart.' . $phpEx);

Did you change the error in usercp_confirm.php?
