mySQL error

Post by atryeu »

It has been almost 2 or 3 months since I installed phpBB now and it worked fine up until about 1-2 weeks ago. I know get an error message every time I try and visit the main page of the forums.

http://tdw.ppnhost.ws/forums <- Link to my phpBB board with the error

Can anybody tell me how I can fix this error? If possible, I would really like to avoid reinstalling the entire thing over again.

Also, I am very new to mySQL, so I know next to nothing about it.

phpBB : Critical Error

Could not connect to the database

This message appears when mysql refuses a connection from a host, because this host established too many erroneous connections. As indicated this can be solved by flushing the internal hosts list of mysql. I am not sure if this can be done by phpmyadmin, if not you will have to contact your webhost.

I contacted my host first about the problem. He said he had no clue what the error was about and he had never seen it before and that I should contact you. :(

Is there any possible way to change the host for the mySQL database while I get this error? I have a database on another server I could use instead....

I know absolutely nothing about that phpmyadmin. I've seen it mentioned on my hosts control panel before but it doesnt' do anything when I click it. Would it be easier to just reinstall the entire board?
