Critical error installing phpbb

Post by jtalmeida » Wed Nov 24, 2004 2:21 pm

:!: Hi,

I am using Windows XP Professional Ed., IIS, MS Acess 2002 and PHP4.3.9.

I' tried the installation procedure as describe in your manual, but I get this error that doesn't allow me to conclude the installation:

-----------------
Warning: odbc_connect(): SQL error: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified, SQL state IM002 in SQLConnect in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\phpBB2\db\msaccess.php on line 55
phpBB : Critical Error

Could not connect to the database

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : Error
------------------

Can you help me?

Thanks...

Make sure that you created a User of System DSN pointing to the target database in your Windows Control panel » ODBC Sources.

Thanks a lot.
I had an error point to the target, but know it's working.

By the way, I'm using MSAcess, but in the near future I'll upgrade to SQL. Can I convert the DB then?

Thanks,

I am not sure about the upgrading thing, however if I'm not mistaking SQLYog is able to connect with a ODBC database source and transfer the data to a MySQL database. I copied the contents of an Access database to a MySQL database that way some time ago too :)

JT,

Access has an Upsizing wizard that you can use to upgrade your database to SQL Server. Look for it in th Tools->Database Utilities menu.
