My Webpage. How does phpbb do this....

Post by sfamonkey » Wed Dec 08, 2004 12:09 pm

Hi. I kinda want to setup my home page like phpbb does.
take a look at the picture. I want a like fram at the top one in the middle and one at the botton but I want them all in different files. Like top = Overal_header middle=Overal_body bottom = overal_footer. I don't need the links in a frame but how would I add the html code or tables to put a link box at the right of the body page?

If you don't understand I will attempt to explain better.

You can do this by editing the HTML located in the overall_header.tpl (the base of that file has the HTML for the header (top) of the forum), and the HTML in overall_footer.tpl (base) - both those files are in the templates folder.

If you want side columns, side navigation bar etc, you would want to open a table column in overall_header.tpl, and close it in overall_footer.tpl.

Well most users would use a portal for this. Portals are not provided here, but feel free to google for phpBB portals. There is also list of portals here.

The most popular is probably ezPortal, by smartor.
