[IMG]Link.php[/IMG]

Post by VahnRPG »

I'm not sure if this is the right place or not, but I was wondering something...

Is there any way to display php and other such links as an image? Like how some webcomic lists have a special button code that you can do <img src="link.php?id=12345"> and it'd display a picture. Have I been doing something wrong or is this turned off in phpbb for whatever security reasons?

Thanks, I appreciate it!

I've done some testing... the image tag, wrapped around a program that generates an image, works on the forums I administer, EXCEPT for those that have been updated to 2.0.11, so there has to have been a style change to disallow it.

Starting at 2.0.8, images where limited to URLs that ended with GIF, JPG, JPEG, and PNG and did not contain any special "scripting" characters such as '?'. This was to prevent a cross scripting exploit that allowed hackers to log people out when they viewed a particular post, and even lock or delete a topic when a moderator or administrator viewed a post containing the exploit.
