Have you allowed HTML in your profile? Are the tags you are using valid and not disallowed by the forum?

When you allow html wouldnt all tags work? In the admin cp there are only like 5 tags allowed. There must be a million html tages out there how do i know wich ones to allow. What are the most common html tags?

Well, the only special BBcode that seems to be in that signature is the URL code:

[url=http://www.yoursite.com]Click here to visit my site[/url]

and maybe some code to change the size of the text:

[size=9]Size 9 font here[/size]

Basically, if you want to allow HTML, just allow some of the most common tags, with the exception of the 'a' and 'img' tags, as they can be exploited against your forum. These are the ones I allow on my forum: (I just copied this from my forum configuration page):

b,i,u,pre,p,br,table,td,tr,center,font,tt,marquee,hr

One shouldn't be turning on HTML unless there is something that is not provided by BBCode. Also, all HTML tags or BBCode that allows for any kind of scripting to be installed by a poster is dangerous and should generally be avoided.
