Editing the files

Post by Noonster » Tue Mar 22, 2005 9:34 am

This may sound like a stupid question to most but i hope you can help me....

When as home i use a program called SubEthaEdit on a mac to edit all the files on my forum.

However i am now wanting to work on the forum while i am at work on a PC.
- Is there a similar program to the one above for the PC?
- If not then what do you use/recomend?

Many Thanks
Darren

Is your work PC a Windows computer?
If so I recommend Notepad++, it is an editor only so it doesn't have the 'invite others' and 'browse via internet' etc features that your program has, but it does the job fine for me.

Hope that helps :)

Yeah it is... sorry i should have said - Its running Windows XP.

Woops I should have also said the only features i really use from the other editor are:
- Numbers down the side of the lines
- The way is highlights the text... Orange/Green/Grey etc.. - Easy to read and spot bits.

Thats about it... i know i should have stated that in that first post, and once again i am sorry.

Does Notepad++ have any of them features??

If not do you know of a program that does?

Cheers
Darren
