Someone Official - Please Help! (3 Easy Problems)

Problem One - BBCode Buttons
Okay, I want the buttons in my forum to be normal buttons. Like these: Image <-- just normal default System Buttons. I can make them default, but they become square, not rounded corners. Why is that?

Problem Two - Last Post Link
[SOLVED] - it's in index.php

If you look on the Forum index, you'll see a little Image. The code in the TPL file's for this is: {catrow.forumrow.LAST_POST} BUT that includes the name of the poster to. Which file tells it to display that? I want the username, but not the picture.

Problem Three - Times on the Board
[SOLVED] - delete it out of language file

Just abovewhere it is posted, it says something like this: Posted: Sat Apr 09, 2005 3:03 am Post subject: Times on Board. I do not want it to display the time, just the date. I have already edited out the subject - but the code reference for the Date and Time is: {L_POSTED}. Now again, I would like to know which file is telling that bit of code what to display? That way I might be able to edit out the time, but leave the date. The other option is to delete any time references out of the "lang_english" file, but then it would still try and display it, so it might throw an error at me.

All three of the problems are the same.
I just need to know which files are telling it to display these things. If it is TPL files I am okay, but if it is PHP files, I would need some more help on what parts to edit, but surely these are simple to solve? Something is telling it to display like that, all i want to do, is delete that reference in the file so it cant tell it to display.

Please Help!
Thank You,

Yes, you guessed right: it's on the TPL files.
So, just edit the TPL (it's just some HTML codes), removing the variable links and/or adding yours in.

You can compare the viewed source (the one from your browser) with the TPL to find the line location of what you were looking for.

For which problem?
Remember, i tried editing the TPL files and it didnt seem to work? I am not new to phpBB, so i am pretty confident in editing the files.

I have also just found an old MOD: Double Post Merge.
The splitter is the "Post Date: xx/xx/xx 9:00 pm" and it seems the time function IS in "posting.php"

Code: Select all

			// english: on the the following 3 lines you can change the way message is splitted
			$separator = '\n\n[size=9]'; // just cosmetics to differ this text from posted message
			$separator .= $lang['Posted'] .' ' . create_date($board_config['default_dateformat'], time(), $board_config['board_timezone']);
			$separator .= ':[/size]\n\n';
			$message = ( !empty($last_message) && $last_message != $message ) ? $last_message . $separator . $message : $message;
SO, surely i would just have to find: time(), $board_config['board_timezone'] in "posting.php" and remove it, and it shouldnt display the time?
The new line would look like this:

Code: Select all

$separator .= $lang['Posted'] .' ' . create_date($board_config['default_dateformat']);

Beside of editing TPL, you can change your board time format to show only date. Of course, users will still have the option to change the time format to reinclude time.

Or what you wanted was to hide the time for all users, no exception?

Yes yes, Hide the time.
I have edited it out of the Profile Screen and Register Screen so no user actually does anything with the time, the only problem is like i say above, where it says "Post Time".
Hiding it from users isnt the problem, its hiding it from the whole board - so time doesnt actually display anywhere on my forum.

the Post Time Statement will be set in language/lang_main.php

Okay, I'll have a look at that :)
What about the others? Surely someone who knows about phpBB can help? :(
