blocking external email accounts - can anybody help pls?

I have installed all components and we really need to pretect ourselves from allowing guests and registered users from being able to click the email link within the phpBB forum section! We do however want to capture the email address for our own mass mailings! Is this a tick box somewhere?

I would really appreciate some help on this

yep, in the admin panel general configuration. allow email through the board

that is for the internal email for the forum right? we have that disabled. What we need to disable is the external email accounts!

what i mean is :- within the site itself, you are able to click the "email" button which brings up that users external email address! We need to disable this setting. We are keen to capture the email address when users register so we can mass mail them in the future, but we need to prevent anybody from being able to email our users - its a security thing as our site is focused on car enthusiasts and there are vehicle registrations listed on the site. We must ensure nobody can contact any of our users.

Theres an option in peoples profiles to keep thier email private.
If you want to completely remove the email button you would have to edit it out of (i think) viewtopic_body.tpl and profile_view_body.tpl
