Post Scripts by admin???

Post by faidwen »

Is there a way for me to post a sticky post that contains embedded SCRIPTS ???

IE:

<script src="http://securityresponse.symantec.com/av ... "></script>
<script src="http://securityresponse.symantec.com/av ... "></script>
<script src="http://securityresponse.symantec.com/av ... "></script>
<script src="http://securityresponse.symantec.com/av ... "></script>
<script>
var symBACKcolor = 'black';
var symRmax = '5';
var symAmax = '5';
var symLmax = '10';
symDisplay();
</script>

you could enable the script tag in the controll panel under allowed html but i would strongly advise against it.

I think there is a mod somewhere that allows only admin to post any html.

Wow, I cannot find a mod that will allow admin to post any html, but I will keep looking... THANKS

Actually, I enabled the SCRIPT and SCRIPT SRC as available html, and it still just displays the script without embedding etc...

Can anyone get the following to work in a message post???

<script src="http://securityresponse.symantec.com/av ... "></script>
<script src="http://securityresponse.symantec.com/av ... "></script>
<script src="http://securityresponse.symantec.com/av ... "></script>
<script src="http://securityresponse.symantec.com/av ... "></script>
<script>
var symAmax = '3';
var symLmax = '5';
symDisplay();
</script>

Okay, finally got this to work.

BUT, when a user is NOT LOGGED in, they see NO HTML within the post, it instead shows as regular code...

If HTML is turned on, then shouldn't the default be to VIEW HTML??

I think this may be a bug, or it could be intentional. Can someone confirm??

Thanks in advance!!

it will be pleasure to see a link to mod: HTML FOR ADMIN ONLY.

that means:
only admins can post html
all visitors (users, guest etc) should see this html

I sure wouldn't post a link to any board that has that allowed. ONly if you are just begging to lose it all , up to and including your complete server.
