admin page's version information warning

but it's still a mystery.....cuz i never touched the lang_main.php setting, it was kept in iso8859-1 on both servers....

what exactly does the version check do and how is it related with the webserver according to what you said...?

The version check pulls a file from here and compares to what version your database says. I am guessing that one of the php functions on your server is not quite right for it to work. It really is not importatn to the operation of your board. You can subscibe to teh mailing list to get notified of updates anyways.
